The Masterclasses are led and designed by Cinematics Director Joshua Archer, with over 100 performance capture projects to his name, working on titles such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Call of Duty, Just Cause and feature films such as Ready Player One, Directed by Steven Spielberg and Mowgli, Directed by motion capture royalty, Andy Serkis.

We have designed these workshops to help you expand your knowledge in order to succeed in a very technically demanding part of the industry, by taking our experience and knowledge of working on different AAA games, feature films, immersive experiences and more, with different game developers, designers, and directors, that all use the same technologies, pipelines and processes. We find it hard to connect with the titles of "performance capture artist" or "motion capture specialist", you are, an actor, so lets arm you with insight, confidence and understanding to really bring this medium to life.

 

An actor requires certain experience to really flourish, whether that be understanding stage blocking for theatre, or camera positions and lenses for screen. It is no different for performance capture, it is acting, but there are also technical skills to know and arm yourself with to really feel comfortable in the volume so that you can focus on giving the best performance possible.
